While it may be a best friend you need to pay, it is well worth it. Fiverr is a site where people can list jobs that they will do for you for just 5 dollars. This is fantastic for non profits who are understaffed with a limited budget.
From designing business cards, to proofreading a blog post, publishing your press release, helping with video/audio, to offering suggestions on your website or even offering logo ideas, there are countless offers on the site all for just $5. Some jobs might need more support and they will list additional fees (which usually are a bargain as well).
It is worth thinking through some tasks that are a particular hassle for you. Make a list of the things you do daily and weekly and see what some things that you (or other staff members) are doing that are just sucking energy away from tasks you enjoy more and are better at.
You may decide that you could use a virtual assistant for recurring tasks, but if you are starting out on a shoestring budget or if you need , it is worth spending an hour or two on Fiverr to see if some of those tasks can be handled by someone else.
Some tips
- For your official site/social media – do not get a deal followers or backlinks or other shady online promotion deals. It may be cheap, but google and other sites are getting smarter at sniffing the false traffic out. It can hurt you in the long run.
- Check the reviews not just the ratings (keep in mind some are fluff).
- Note exactly what the $5 covers. Sometimes it will not be good enough for you without paying an additional cost.
Remember, you are really just risking $5. Unless it sounds shady, do not consternate too much about it. Don’t spend an exorbitant amount of time at first, but an hour or two on the site and a test with a $5 offer could save you a lot of time.
